Long Reach - ATV went through ice

Long Reach off Quick Short Rd…911 was called today due to fishing equipment and what was thought to be a collapsed hut out in middle with no fishermen around…was an ATV that went through the ice. There was no abandoned vehicle in that area, so police will be checking Huff's Road!! Ice is not safe!!!

Does anyone have further info on this? Went past this morning and it looks like OPP are still on the scene. Is the operator safe?

Police stayed all night and still here…no one found…ATV not in sight, sank...sled with pop up still on ice…cooler brought in by rescue team yesterday...have not heard any new news…wondering if it is a local angler, there'd be no abandoned vehicle!!

Operator is alive and came with canoe and rope to retrieve what he can!! Not from this area!!
