Location: On the water somewhere
Anywhere on the bay where there is current the ice can be risky , Telegraph narrows , the cables , Forresters island , Huff's , Hickory lane , south west from Sherman's point and anywhere along the west shore of the reach out of Quick short rd, the current eats up the ice from the underside as we get more snow , always use caution when venturing out from established trails , never take it for granted that Buddy is out there it must be good , he may have taken his time and picked a path to where he is , and there seem's to be a new thing of drilling three or four holes together , that just creates man traps and is not needed , the biggest fish you can catch on the bay will come up through an 8 inch hole ,be cautious and respectful of your fellow anglers , On a side note haven't seen much garbage on the ice this year , good on everyone for cleaning up ! :D

Good post Billy...

You be safe yourself out there. Frank wouldn't know who to follow if you get laid up for the soft water season...LOL

I am guilty of drilling a side by side hole and won't use that practise again. I now know that when we get mild weather with rain that water on top of ice runs into holes and eats away at the hole . I witnessed it myself when I was fishing deep water in Simcoe for lakers and my hole went from 8 inches to 15 inches when I went back to same spot 4 hours later. Looked like someone flushed a toilet with the water swirling.
