We are planning on coming up this Saturday to fish around the Big Island on the Bay of Quinte.
It’s a three hour trip for us from the Hamilton area.
What are the conditions? Is it worth while bringing an ATV? How safe is the ice?
Please share your comments and recommendations.
Thanks

A truck pulling an atv on a trailer drove past me on the ice today. He came off Dufferin street and out to Indian island and then east almost to Onderdonk's. A good 12 inches of ice where I was and 3 inches of slush . The water was not running down the hole, actually came bubbling up when the truck went by.

Thanks for the update. We will come up tomorrow and assess the conditions Prior to heading out onto the ice. Ideally, We want to be somewhere near Alliston road or red marker Q46
