Well fisherpeople, it's all over for icefishing on the bay for this year, Batman, myself, and Jimbo tried are hardest at Quick Short this evening with Jim catching a 10.8 lber, she went back, and a huge channel cat,11.7 lbs. Batman&I got skunked. Time to head north now. :)

Lyn,
Hey I know you know but others might not realize that the season for Pike is still open along with perch and crappies. I dont know if anyone ever targets these species after the eyes close but if they do drop me a line I'd like to join

Dan, I would love to go after some crappies also, but not sure where they are, let me know I'll go along also. LM

Loughborough Lk between the two sections is known for some nice crappie fishing apparently. I have understood through a bio and conservation officer friend of mine that the Bay of Quinte has some interesting areas, with me having no idea where to begin. Personally, I would be targetting the yellow perch, but I am biased regarding tasty treats...lol

This past weekend I got to fish for some steelhead on Vancouver Island (no luck). Most of the locals there just leave the inland trout alone and view them as just so small, that they are not worth their time. I liked seeing the laker photo you had posted and hope to give them a try at some point in northern BC during my "tenure" here.

Have fun

Don Stokes
