Can anyone please let me know if the Sheephead / Drum fish are running yet in the Bay of Quinte?
I am looking to get out and try it for the first time, but I'm over two hours away and wish to go when they are running.
Any info and tips on where to go and what to use are greatly appreciated.
Thank you all
Jaime

Usually there isn't many this early. If you want to catch them, wait until the water warms a bit. They spawn around 65F, so "usually" mid may, but maybe later this year due to the cold weather. Belleville bay will be full of them when they are in (bay bridge S side/ massassauga point), use white grub/jig, you won't be able to keep those greasy things off your line.

They put up one hell of a fight. Hope they’re hungry soon because, although they’re not a fish of choice, they’re fun to fight with.

Thank you all for the info and tips. I can hardly wait to get out and give it a try. We have cabin fever big time and need to get out for a fish. Excited to try this out! If anyone hears that they have come into the bay, we would appreciate it big time if someone could post it so we don't drive down 2 + hours and be disappointed the run has not started. Many thanks
Jaime
