Can I bring out my portable hut on to the Bay right now?

Hi,

I plan to be going for some pan fish and pike this weekend and I hear huts had to be off the ice on the BOQ now, but does that also mean portable ones (clam style)?

Any info would be appreciated.

Portables are fine. It's only permanent huts with registration numbers that must be off by the removal date for your region. It's primarily a problem with spring debris causing boating hazards that the gov't is concered with.

i'd be more worried about the amount of garbage that gets left over by ice fisherman...

one million cigarette butts are really good on the water....

as are coffee cups.

Right you are about the garbage.Up at the lake we are on the amount of crap lying around on the ice is deplorable. We always have lots of plastic grocery bags with us to pack out the stuff we pack in. For the gang I fish with it's just part of our routine. Lots of beer bottles and propane cylinders have been on a two way trip this winter!
