Quinte Fishing

Good Morning,
I took my kids under the bay bridge yesterday between 4-5:30. We were fishing for sheepshead. No sheep but a nice 5 pound walleye on a gold and black sidewinder icefishing jig. 28ft jigged off bottom.
Anyone have any tips on how and time of year to target the sheeps?

if there in the area they'll go after almost anything, ive caught one already this year nothing big,, but I imagine the monsters will be lurking shortly.

I've had good luck jigging for them on white tubes, about 3" just on the outsides of weed beds.
