Went out to haybay/long reach in that brutal heat yesterday afternoon. Started off trolling but it was pretty obvious the fish were taking the afternoon nap. Decided to try and get some shade along the high shore bluffs and throw jigs along the drop off. I couldnt get anything going on the jig but was marking the odd fish on bottom. Decided to put on a shiver minnow and casted it to the outside edge of the weedline and popped it/ rip it back to the boat. ended up with 3 fish plus lost a few boatside. Once the wind started up we put out the harnesses and got a few more. Thanks to Don for giving me a ride back to my vehicle as my boat starter engine was completely dead when we went to move. Tried jumping from my trolling motor but no luck. Was very fortunate to get the boat on the trailer moments before the down pour and lightening rolled in.

Lol. It actually had nothing to do with the engine. I upgraded my trolling motor to the ultrex. It has a GPS puck and I wired into my boats wiring harness not realizing it needs a on off switch or its constantly drawing power. It doesn't draw much power but over a period of time it was enough. Problem fixed now
