I had a Guideware 3500 Auto inflatable PFD, which I loved. It lost it's green indicator in the inflator so Cabela's replaced it.

The sent me a Tournament ZX4000 Auto PFD, which was the same on sale price as the original, as a replacement. Not as comfortable as the Guideware.

Come to find out that the rearm kit for this PFD and the New Guideware 4000 auto aren't readily available. The old Guideware used a standard kit that you could get just about anywhere.

The new pfd's use a Leland V95000-86202Z rearm kit, which uses a 38 gram 1/2 inch screw in cartridge that Cabela's Canada doesn't have as yet. Nor does anyione else.

The Leland website doesn't sell to Canadians and directs customers to Marine suppliers. I can't find them on Canadian Marine Suppliers websites, so they appear to be a special order item.

I really love the Guideware PFD, but I'm concerned about the future availability of the rearm kit.

Thought I'd pass this along and maybe save someone disappointment.

Did you try Marine outfitters in Collins Bay if they don't have in stock they can probably order. Yesterday they had many different types

Spoke to Cabela's and they can't order in from the states. They're aware of the problem and are very apologetic. Allowing me to return for a refund.

The kit is a special order item through a Marine supply store. I don't want a PFD that doesn't have readily available kit.

Going down to Marine Outfitter's next week for a different PFD. They're prices and much cheaper than Cabela's. Good people too.

I bought my rearm kit there.... cheaper than anywhere else, and two blocks from home

Returned my PFD to the Cabela's Ottawa store. The in-store customer service was better than the "800". Very pleased.

I’m very happy I didn’t buy these. I had 3 of them ready to order last winter. This has opened my eyes. Thanks for sharing.

This whole process took over 6 weeks and about a dozen phone calls to sort out.

I would have rather not gone through it.

I don't understand Cabela's price on the Mustang Delux 38. Cabela's is $329.99. Sail is $249.99. Marine Outfitters $219.99.

Cabela's will price match.

As of this morning Cabela's has the 38 grams rearm kit for $29.99.

This is the kit for the Guidewear 4000 and the Tourmament ZX4000.

The Guidewear 4000 just came on sale this morning for $199.99 which is a good price. Loved my old Guidewear.

The new Gudiewear uses the breaking zipper closure like the HIT Mustang rather than the velcro. Here's the link to the Mustang sight. The vidow on the right shows how the pack the breaking zipper.
