There are some good mechanics....you didn't mention the issue or the motor or boat type. If it's an etec the only place i take mine is Smarts Marina in Cloyne, there are tons of Merc places. Wards on Bath Rd was good at one time

I would agree with MP Marine on hgy 38, just past Unity Rd.

Mike has been working on my boat for 13 years great guy- great service

Mike is a good mechanic, unfortunately he doesn't have the Etec software or support. These newer motors are getting like cars/trucks with so much software you pretty much need to take them in to a dealer.

Ward's is ok, they can be expensive and slow at peak season

Slow isn’t the word for it, I won’t go into details here but it is hardly believable! Thanks to all for your helpful replies!

I agree with the others. Mike MP marine is great. Did some work on my kicker last year for me. Quick, great communication, reasonable price etc.

He will be wrapping my rig once the bay is froze up

The problem is its a seasonal buisness.....swamped in the summer and slow in the winter. Not a lot of small engine marine mechanics want to work 6 months a year so shops are always behind. We all want a quick turnaround when we need service but it,s not always possible..I feel your pain, of course it helps if its fixed right after getting it back.

Bamp if you are taking an Etec to Smarts Well???? do yourself a favour don't. I find Durham marine honest friendly and reasonable. Sorry I can't say one of the other.
