Quinte Fishing

Well, I'm going walleye fishing this Friday and I was hoping to lunch closer to the Gap rather than in Picton where I usually launch.

I have a 17 foot multi species aluminum boat and I am considering using the Prinyers Cove boat launch.

I have never been to the Prinyers Cove boat launch. What kind of experience should I expect to have there? I'm coming from Belleville, is that the best option for launching near the gap or is there somewhere else I should be considering?

I was there two years ago. The launch was good but I don't know about the low water.

It's a long narrow driveway to the launch that I backed down. No place to turn around. There's no parking in the park and there were several signs to stay off the grass.

The shoulders around the park are narrow with ditches. I found a shoulder around the corner that was OK. About 100 yrds to the ramp.

A west wind will blow straight into the ramp.

There was a fee box but I don't remember the amount required.

I have a 16.5 ft aluminum and can shore launch at the east end of Finkles park. You need boots and a 4x4 to be safe.
That might be an option.

I think the left side of Finkles ramp is usable but the dock isn't suitable for tying to. I think you'll need someone in the boat when you launch.

Someone else might be able to give you better info.
