Dad and I went out for an afternoon fish. Set up in about 24 ft of water about 5-6 inches of ice had a couple lookers come thru but couldn’t get them to bite. Most people I’ve ever seen out there it was packed! Hope others had better luck than us.

What a weekend we had, -30 temps, and very windy. fished huffs Saturday, Auger wouldn't start until we put it in the hut with some heat, snowmobile would barely start because of the cold, had a horrible start but ended up being better as we got a couple walleye, sunday truck wouldn't start so we had to get a tow truck to come boost us. 3 hour drive ahead of us was unfortunate we didn't get out Sunday, but it is what is it. Lots of huts out there must have been 40-50 huts out there, we were fishing in 26 fow, had about 7 inches of Ice, couple atvs and snowmobiles out as well. Probably have about 8-9 inches of ice by now, but be sure to check everywhere as huffs is a current area and could have less ice on some spots.

You guys get all this rain today on the bay? (Wednesday the 23rd)

Wondering how the day will impact the ice...Also heard about this dam opening up north of Napanee? Extra rush of water erode throughout huffs fairly quick I'm assuming?

Was out by Thompsons, quite slushy around the shorelines.

I went out yesterday in the pouring rain for a afternoon fish and it was a bit of hard walk as you could imagine but the rain didn’t seem to affect the ice at all as I still had 8-10 inches off to the right in about 24 ft. of water. Had lots of lookers and missed 2 one about 2ft from the home another half way up. I was getting bored so I tried pounding my snap rap off the bottom and both hit as it came off the bottom so I couldn’t get a real good hook set! . I guess I won’t be afraid to try crazy stuff anymore! Cheers!
