I'm brand spankin new to ice fishing (I fish a ton during spring/summer/fall). I'm planning on going out to Sherman's Point this weekend to try my shot at some walleyes. Does anyone have any helpful suggestions of the favorite bait/tackle. Or any spot at which you would recommend for a new ice fishing anglers in that area.

Thanks!

Come to the dew drop in for your minnows. It’s along the way before Sherman’s. They’ll give you some advice
Located 2478 county rd 9. It will be on your left hand side coming out

I would suggest Huffs as you can park right there with a short walk. Shamans means parking at the government launch and a long walk...
28-36" Rod. Medium reel with 6-10lb line.
Brass colour spoon . Kastmaster or Mr champ are great. Little Cleo work too.
Two medium size minnows.
Jig fairly aggressive. 2-3ft lifts. Then slow down with long pauses.
If you have electronics watch for fish coming in. Adjust jigging to best reaction.
Good luck!

Bob

Everyone has given you the right info so for.......... might add this IF your using electronics and do see suspended marks, wind up to them. They are walleye and history has proven time and time again usually large and aggressive
