So I tried the tip from this video to attract fish using a lure to bring them in with the sound and shining and it does seem to work even if you sometimes only get some dinks but it does help to bring in some bigger ones. Just wondering what tips anyone else has for bringing in perch. I usually just use minnows a lot of the time so i'm trying to branch out to using lures more cause i've seem many videos of people slaying with them. Any help is appreciated.

I find using a small 1/16 ounce Firetiger Lindy flyer does a great job for bringing in the perch, i fish cooks on simcoe a bit too and if its dead where we are i will drop one down and jig that for a bit, brings in tons of perch pretty quick. That tipped with a minnow head can be killer many days but if the fish arent very active they will come in and just stare at it so following up with a small shinner gets the job done.

for bringing perch to me i like a flash lure, a spoon usually, rip it a few feet off bottom and if a school moves in i find a jig with imitation or real waxies, maggots or even minnows can seal the deal. deadsticks up higher or a pickeral rig have produced some of my bigger perch, top hook often takes the jumbos. a good auger, flasher and mobility are key and sight fishing and stick handling around the smaller ones works great too.

i find when the walleye are away the big perch come out to play, this was an older post of mine from quinte.

I agree with Sash............Walleye not around...Perch come out to play.

Hit a nice school of 10-13 inch perch about 500 yds off shore (Big Bay) on Friday morning.

Spoon tipped with a full minnow did the trick.

Also..........picked up as many perch on deadstick as on jigging rod :)

Thanks for the tips. I'll definitely keep an eye out for them. I did get to try a few different jigs this year and I had the most success with a Blue Fox Nomad. The shine as it spins and sound of the chain help bring them in. tip it with a minnow head or tail and it worked great.

Gotta agree with Bob!~

However... the Guy mastered the knack of holding on to an Audience:

We kept watching... and waiting... for a REAL Fish to pop out of a Hole, right to The End.

Think we might have been holding our breath for the last few minutes - as in: "Shirley, there's gotta be ONE big 'un coming??"

Phooosh.
