Just had a Flashback to our first Winter on The Bay, arriving in January of 1996.
We're on the Phone with our Brother, while looking out the window, when all of a sudden a Hut slides by, heading toward The Bay Bridge.
We say: "Holy Cow, some Guy has a motorized Ice Hut, and he's running it Eastward on The Bay!"
This astonishing sight is quickly followed by SEVERAL MORE HUTS, heading in the same direction, accompanied by some Anglers running after them!
Finally it dawns on us; a strong Westerly Wind is gusting powerfully enough to pull those Huts off their anchors, and begin sliding them down The Bay!! Imagine what that must have felt like to the poor Suckers stuck inside some of those Huts.~
The following Morning we crossed over The Bay Bridge, and saw several Huts piled up along the Breakwall at The Bridge.
You never know, there just might be a repeat Performance in the Days ahead.
