Just wanted to say hello to everyone as I’m new to the board. I’ve been fishing and hunting my whole life how ever I’m pretty new to the bay. I’m usually an avid steelhead fisherman but I’ve been having a lot of fun out on the hard water chasing walleye Anyways, I’m renting a cottage in the up coming weeks near where I put that pin. I have never fished that section if anyone has any tips for that area it would be greatly appreciated. I have no problem driving to different locations but the girlfriends pregnant so we won’t be putting in a crazy amount of foot work! Thanks everyone in advance!

Huffs is very close to where youll be staying and is as good as anywhere.
Also not a long walk to get fishing.

Okay thank you! Is there a good spot to park near there ? I couldn’t be more excited I heard there was a fair amount of current behind the cottage. Is there less at huffs? Meaning thicker ice if this warm front does anything to it ?

Your pin is nearly on top of Huff's. Which is the tiny point just to the left of your pin.

Yes there is a field right there you can park in, I believe its $5 but unless you park on the ice youll likely get a ticket for parking along the road.
There is pretty decent current there, just keep an eye on the board and guys will likely post ice conditions.
You could also likely fish right out from the cottage.
As long as you check the ice as youre going out you should be fine.

Sam, if you are in a cottage just north of Huffs I hope there is a good road down to the cottage. There is a big drop from the main road down to the water. If you are down by the water at the cottage you will have an easy walk out to some good fishing. Good Luck. BATMAN

Batman, In the photos it looks like we can access the lake from the back yard. I was just worried with the current in that area.. if there was going to be any ice haha also how the fishing has been

walk out straight west about 100 yds from your cottage check the ice as you go , look for 25 to 28 ft of water , there are 3 little humps right on the edge of the 16 ft drop to the channel , great spot , you don't need to drive anywhere :D
