Beautiful fish, it's a shame it was harvested though.
Replica mounts are the way to go, IMO.

Not really a shame to keep a once in a lifetime fish guys!
It's probably past it's prime spawning age anyway. The genetics of that fish have been passed on to thousands of other fish.

My thoughts exactly Bobber.
That lad has put in his time and released many other big fish. I can't wait to see the mount and who he used

10 years ago I would have agreed. Today is much different, the angling pressure on the big lake run fish is extremely high now with uncertainty on mortality of fish being released. I have fished Quinte since 1960 when my grandfather took me in his old cedar strip boat. There have been some lean times, we have today a wonderful fishery which needs protection. I would like to see a winter slot size of 18 to 23 inches which protects those big female fish. Just my thoughts.

It is his legal right to keep it, it's his personal best. I applaud him !

If the government thinks there is to much pressure on the lakes these days maybe they should stop allowing the netting and over harvesting and spoiling of fish the indians continue to do.....which is also completely legal
