I am with aviva as well, they did increase it every year, so I decide to shop around, the companies I checked out would not insure a 1995 17' legend. Too old. So I guess maybe I'm being ridiculous to insure my old boat?

Nautimax I pay 617$ taxes in. 40,000$ coverage. And extra rider of $10000 for personal effects ie fishing gear. Note the base mount is only something like 2500$. Also includes extended trailering distance and a lot of people don’t know your coverage has a trailer distance limit and outside of that coverage can be reduced.

I switched home and auto to BelAir Direct last year and the boat was a home policy add-on. only paying $85/year, $2,000,000 liability only, on a 16 ft with 40 hp.

Desjardins. ... $1700.00 for 90k replacement on my Ranger, I just did a tackle inventory, laid out all my 3700 with a label saying the quantities and price of the lures ( my 3700 are all the same lures ) took pics and now have a digital record of the madness. As my agent said....the average person wouldn't believe this...haha

I shop all my insurance polices every other year, have for over thirty years, and haven't found anyone who can match Intact when purchased through OFAH. I'm paying less than two hundred a year for $40K coverage on a pontoon boat. A further note, I was told by multiple companies two years ago that they did not write polices on pontoons and have been told twice by BelAir Direct that they don't offer marine coverage. Insurance may be the weirdest industry of all, pick and choose clients and then penalize them when they use the service they paid for.

Nautimax for me on a 17 ft lund fury. 430 bucks a year.

I had it on my home for like 200 a year but my broker convinced me the nautimax coverage was worth the extra . . . I got sucked in but it does give more coverages then having it on the home policy.

Funny thing insurance companies.
No one is willing to pay for coverage
But when it is time for coverage everyone expects gold star treatment

Doubling the price is not very ethical, makes me wonder if the service follows the same ethics?

Try Tanner out of Ottawa. Or Johnson out of Kingston
Both were similar in coverage and cost

For a great insurance coverage policy sign up with OFAH.
You get 2M liability and a host of other supportive services

Harbour changed mine from $375+ to $625+, no claims and this is the boats 11th year being insured. I'm now going with April Marine for $374+ tax. It does pay to shop around.
