I was looking at some pix the other day and came across this one from 2018 and wondered what Finkle's was like this year. Just happened passing on my way back from the CLOSA Swap Sale.

Here's 2018

Here's 2019

Looks similar.... The Upper Gap is open with ice floes and geese and ducks, the North Channel has slushy ice to Lafarge's and punky ice at the ramp. From what I could see Adolphus Reach is ice covered.

Need the coast guard ice breaker to come down the river and through the north channel. It’ll go quick after that happens

The icebreaker ( Pierre Radisson )came up the river yesterday from the other side of Prescott staying a good bit of the time in the American Shipping channel. When it got to Cape Vincent i was hoping it would come across and do the North Channel but it went straight on to Toronto. This evening it is in the Welland Canal. The new cement boat has already made 3 trips out of Bath it came in and made its turn at about 6pm last night. I was hoping it would come a little closer to the dock at finkles where I was standing . This evening it is in the Welland Canal. That boy gets around,

I think the boat that normally comes up the Channel is the Griffon which is a buoy laying vessel rather than an actual icebreaker it has been working in Lake Erie and has just left the Welland canal and entered lake Ontario maybe soon.

Another cement boat went up the Reach today and into Picton won't be long now.
