Started in Deseronto yesterday and today, followed the crowds for a bit then did some searching of our own. Biggest fish came from the Reach, 4 all in the 2-4 lbs. Range. Another 5 pan size made for a delicious dinner tonight. Back at it tomorrow.

Nice job. It sounds like the fishing is hot right now. We’re headed up Thursday to hit the Reach and Huffs and some other spots. Hope the lake is still on fire when we get there.

Anthony,
Thanks for the report. I fished the reach a bit yesterday evening and found that the fish were very high in the water. Running a cc shad 50' back

Heck Anthony, we'll gladly give you a Report. Nice going Bud, keep the Reports coming.

Same to Cap'n Dan on his highly productive, near sweep (only two of ten lost, WOW). Dan... "CC Shad"? Can't recall how long it's been since we saw the Lure mentioned. Twenty years back, that was THE Go To lure in this area, right? Then came The Hot'nTot...

Gotta get out there come Hell, or MORE High Water. You Guys are driving us Crazy. Keep the Hammer down, Gents!~

Nice to see the the very informative reports and see folks are catching some nice eating fish. Your right about the CC Shad and Hot n Tots Wordpecker. My dad left me a box of both these lures that he faithfully used years ago. May have to wash the paint on a few. Thanks for the posts.

CC shad has always been a staple along with shad raps and flicker shads

Hey Dan, do we interpret this to read you're not very familiar with the Hotn'Tot?

We brought those when moving here from Amherstburg (mouth of the Detroit River as it enters Lake Erie). It's the 'go to' lure for trolling or planer boards there, and we've had similar success here...

...to the point where we ALWAYS start trolling a standard Blk 'n Chrome Hot'nTot, and usually don't change up from that. We have some 'previously enjoyed' units with ZERO paint left!~

I will add a late Long Weekend addition, we were out yesterday morning early and had the best outing of the weekend. Managed our two man limit of 2 to 3 lb.ers in about 2 hrs. We fished a crawler harness off of bottom bouncers at the mouth of the Napanee river leading into Deseronto. Unfortunately I had to get back to work today we'll see what the weekend brings.
