We were invited to some friends at pickerel park for the weekend. Did a short fish on fri evening. We tried some trolling for an hour around Sherman's and out into long reach but no luck. On the way back in hit a weedbed with a jerkbait and ended up with 5 eyes and lost one. 2 were just over 5 lbs on the scales and the rest were 2 lbers. Saturday morning we had a bit of a late start that might of had to do with sitting around the campfire too late catching up with friends but it was all good. After a couple hours of drowing worms on bouncers and trolling a few other baits headed back to camp with nothing. Saturday evening headed to the same weedbed with jerkbaits on hand and ended up with 6 eyes, a big pike and a couple out of season bass. Not bad as we didn't leave the camp till 7 and we were back by 9:30. The weedbeds have lots of fish. Talking with a few boats that fished the back flats they said it was pretty slow.

Great report Dan. The Ayr Sportsman were at Sunset Farms for their 33rd year. Big Bay produced many fish and yummy fish fries over the 4 days. Most of the fish were caught on worm harnesses in chartreuse and orange colours trolled about 1- 1.2mph. Again this year our derby winners came on the final night with 2 fish over 25" casting body baits over the weeds. The water remains cold for this time of year and there should be some great fishing for awhile yet.
