It's been a very busy summer for me and not alot of fishing time. My wife and I were invited to stay the weekend at pickerel park at some friends trailer. Fri night managed to get out for a a few hours in the evening. Fished a few bass spots and got a few small ones then decided to play with the drum. Found a school in the deep hole by ram Island. Put the trolling motor on spot lock mode and parked it then for the next few hours on the exact same spot boated 60 drum between my friend and I. Most were in the 6-8 lb range with lots over 10 lbs. Not a sport fish I know but lb for lb a great battle on light line. We jigged ice fishing spoons like the buckshot and champs and they hammered them. Biggest was 13 plus. Talked with the trollers back at the camp and most reported the fishing had slowed down from the hot bite of recent but yet still decent. The dock Anglers at Pickerel Park have been doing phenomenal with minnows catching big crappies and lots of them. Good luck out there

I dont mind catching them at all,, when the walters arent cooperating.. fishing partner of mine wants to move as soon as one is caught he seems to think if there around its a sign no walleye are in the area which i dont agree with.

Very cool, Dan.

When the walleye don't want to cooperate, love going for some of these big fish. Last year we hit a school that were upwards and over 20lbs, caught them all on Vibratos with light gear and had to chase some of them so we didn't get spooled.

Cheers

The school were all huge but varied from WOW to OMG!!!

I didn't take many pics but this was our 1st big one but they got much bigger. They were pinning Vibratos on the bottom.
