Sooo i get a call shortly after i got in from a few hours out fishing my ussual haunts ,,,,buddies boat was taking on water badly so he ran it to shore while it was sinking just a stones throw from my place , lil did he know there was a new rock retaining wall under the surface where he decided to b line for. Cause of the high water and full on panic of him and his fishing partner he didnt c it,,,, so he nailed it and there his boat hangs half sunk!!! Twenty foot boat at that! . Soooo I back the boat back in and away i go. Drag all his gear, his fishing partner and fish of course into my boat and head towards dez dock where he's parked ,... and if we dont come across a rolled canoe with 2 men and a girl probly 12 years old clinging onto said rolled canoe!!! So rescue # 2 is now in affect , we drag the girl into the boat while the 2 men are clinging off my boat with deer in the headlights eyes goin on with flooded canoe barely afloat in tow I slowly paddled them into shore and bid them farely well.. Luckily they knew enough to wear pfd's but i think they will be seriously rethinking another canoe ride on quinte! As for buddies boat taking on water your geusses are as good as mine ? Idk what the f happened there . Find out more when he gets it out ,, if he gets it out that is .

Boats done for,, he missed the opening of retaining wall by 2ft ,, 2ft to the west he would have slid right up onto land owners yard. They waded out pushed boat off the wall connected trailer strap bailed water and cranked it up until it was on the trailer. Took them a good 2 hours. Buddy found a hole / slice about 1.5 inches near the bow that probably could have been repaired. But after hitting the wall it opened the bottom of the boat pretty good , pretty sure its beyond repair. I beleive root of the problem was dry rot in the structure of the boat. And apparently his insurance doesnt cover dry rot, will be interesting to see what comes of insurance claim.
