Was out to fish on Sat AM, starting at Pig Farm, (Lots of fish marking with schools of baitfish), trolling from there to Old Church Weedline and several passes there with no success. Headed to Shermans for an hour, never had a hit.
Back to Pig Farm for the last hour, never had a strike.
Hay Bay Larry was out with some visitors and the visitor landed a nice 26" walleye, a 27' pike and a 2 lb SM Bass. Walleye was caught over Mallory Bay with many marks on the graph in the 26' range.
I went back out with my Dad on Sat PM, over to Mallory Bay marking a PILE of fish in the deeper waters. The floating weeds were a real pain, so we headed to Grandfather Cove for a troll over there, didn't see much over that way.
On our way back to Bayview, we stopped and trolled some weedbeds off Ram Is. and I hit a 16" walleye on the Uzick Spinner. Hay Bay Larry and his guest also hit a 16" fish over in Mallory Bay.
The fish appeared to have shut down(walleyes). The water is down approx 1.5 to 2.0 feet in the last three weeks, The surface weedbeds are really showing.
Hay Bay Larry and guest fished Sunday in Mallory Bay and ALL the fish that were seen on Saturday were gone.............. They went casting for bass and pike and they had some success.
The water temp is still over 70 degs F, long way to go for the turnover.
The people I talked to on Sunday AM had no luck on Saturday at all.
Maybe next weekend?
