Quinte Fishing

Hey all, I'm a university student up in Ottawa and finally got my own ice gear this black friday (used to go plenty back home). I'm thinking of doing a weekend trip down to Quinte sometime this winter and was wondering if anyone had any general pointers?

Is the fishing any good on the north east side near Deseronto or should I do the extra drive down Belleville way? Any sketchy waters to avoid?

Deseronto ice is always pretty sketchy...I don't like going out there unless I'm with someone who really knows the area.
Always bring a spud and be careful.
