Hello Folks,
The MNR will be conducting Angler surveys this winter. They have asked me to share the following info.
MNRF Conducting Bay of Quinte Ice Fishing Survey.
Staff from the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) will be at access points on the Bay of Quinte this winter interviewing anglers about their catch and harvest.
If approached by an MNRF field crew, your participation is greatly appreciated and will help maintain this important fishery.
Staff may request to conduct biological sampling of anglers’ harvest to determine fish size and age.
The survey will run until March 1st, the last day of Walleye fishing season in Fisheries Management Zone 20 (FMZ 20).
The Walleye population in the Bay of Quinte and Eastern Lake Ontario is in good shape and should provide a quality fishery in 2020 and over the next several years.
