Hi all.
I am heading to Wellers this weekend and staying at wellers bay camp for their derby.
I am bringing the wife and 2 kids for the event and just as I had not fished Quinte till last fall, I have never fished this area as well.
Can anyone tell me what to expect in terms of the bay and the type of fishing used. I have the tools, the know how is in short supply.
Thanks Clark

I have never fished Wellers Bay this early in the year. There are some big pike in the bay, bucktail spinners and spoons work good. I like the west shore at the dropoff in front of the beach.

The best luck we've had in Wellers bay is right in the middle in front of the big farm on the south shore in about 13-15' of water trolling Erie Deeries with a worm. I'm not sure if the weeds will be out but find some, troll the weedline and good luck. There is a derby there this weekend and you would have better sucess in that derby than the Kawanis because the walleye are smaller in Wellers bay but the pike are plentyful. Good luck and have fun! Hi all.
Thanks Shawn and Patio. We are going in the derby and no natural bait except pork rind is allowed so I guess we will be trolling red devils and spinners with gulps attached. Should be interesting as I am a live bait guy.
Thanks again.
Cheers Clark
