Yes 6 of us went out in the dark Saturday morning, the ice is not very good, you could see open water in two spots North of the island. 200 ft from the island "east" are buddy went through the ice. He made it out but that was enough for me, it was still dark and I could see the light shine off his pants from the water. ***!
It took about 3 hours for him to get his stuff all back because he left his sled where he went through.
Anyways so the ice is not very safe right now.
So we did manage to fish until 11:30 with only 5 small perch!

tks for the report. Was thinking about prefishing the Jan 25 tourney as I've never fished Stocco, but think I'll wait till the coming cold snap next week kicks in.

Does anyone have any info on how the ice is doing on stock a friend at work has a family cottage that way were thinking of maybe having a boys weekend in a couple weeks out that way... I know lots can vary between a few weeks just trying to see if it's worth organizing everything...

Was on it last weekend on my quad. 8+ inches everywhere I drilled. Stay away from the Moria river mouth and other river mouth areas.

Thanks 4 the update really appreciate it .. I think we shall get organizing... still manly the evening fish for crappie going on out that way has been 10+ years since iv fished it... thanks again
