This is right across the street from where I work and a couple of close buddies were out yesterday afternoon. They asked me to pass along the ice conditions. There is no parking allowed on the rd itself but parking is available at the marina for $10.00.
They did that and made their way out to just past the last rental hut out there. They marked fish but couldnt get them to bite. They are both seniors and said it was a nice easy walk out and the depth was 17' and the ice was 5" solid.

Well, that answers my thought in my head yesterday while I was at Potters . Hmmm, maybe they are doing better over at Wilkie?

Out there (Potters) with the perch today, tight-lipped little buggers. About 5 inches where I was 1/2 way to the green buoy. I stayed on the path that was generated by the Sunday / Monday fishers. Had the Vex marking fish and the Aqua-vu seeing fish, only one small walleye seen and a lot of small perch along with maybe 1/2 dozen jumbos. 6 hours of fishing resulted in one jumbo along with 3 small perch all sent back.
There was a gentleman about 100 yards from me and he believes he hooked into a smaller walleye but no joy, long-distance release.

I guess I did ok saved my $10 for parking....

Safe Ice there around the huts but fishing is slow based on my attempts . I tried farther east towards bridge, spudded 2-3 inches then ice was so inconsistent I quickly back tracked. My concern now that as water levels recede and temperatures are mild will there be issues with strength. Wacky year for sure, not like last year.
