People ask me what lakes are currently safe enough to fish on. So please name some lakes so we can pass it on. (LAKES NOT SPOTS)

I do not believe that one can actually answer this question this year. I do think it is a year of you need to go for the drive. A good example of this was yesterday in an area that I frequent.
In an area North of the bay I fished a 500 foot by 500 foot surface of the ice. That surface I drilled likely 15 or more holes 2 holes showed less than 4 inches of 1/2 white and 1/2 black ice. 8-10 holes showed ice at 5-7 inches and the remainder were 8-9 inches. The part I found amusing was the fact that the 8-9 inches of ice I was and had open water only 100 feet away.

Wife and I were heading to Belleville Wednesday to fish Quinte for very first time. Hopefully we can find a spot that has good ice. :)

My father and I were out on North Beaver Lake last Friday and we were on approximately 11" of ice. In 34' of water.
