Hey folks, first time poster. I've been on this forum frequently since moving to PEC last fall, trying to figure out how to get walleye onto my hooks - or, even better, on my kids' hooks. This forum has been an incredible resource - thanks to all of you who choose to share rather than hoard your hard-earned information. After a challenging winter and spring (so far), I finally have something worth sharing - at least, if you enjoy catching pike as much as we do.

With water temps still low I thought a big shallow bay might be the ticket, so we headed to Muscote Bay. There was a post on this forum from years ago talking about trolling the south shore, so my youngest son and I made our way down there trying all kinds of lures on the way. When we finally hit the right combination of location and presentation (stick baits, mostly), the action was awesome. Twelve nice pike in total, and a few largemouth too, all in about 4 hours. We were in 6-9 FOW and using planer boards, mostly because I thought we might get a walleye at some point. No dice, but pike are lots of fun and great eating too, so no complaints from us.

Safe fishing guys, and thanks again to all the contributors here.

Welcome to 'Posting', UpDaddyDown'!

Don't hafta tell you anything; just want to say how much we LOVE the Smile on your Kid's Kisser!

Enjoy the Days Ahead. We may still get a Soft Water Season; BUT Ma needs to put The Pedal Down.

Rgds, Wordpecker.
