Fished the mouth of the river today 630-12. Lots of boats in there that seemed to be having the same luck We managed one walleye. Of about 18". Water was 52 degrees of note no dock at Deseronto and it was busy.

We also tried the mouth and front of Deseronto with no luck on Sunday May 17th. Very nice day to fish but no luck other then some perch and silver bass. should have tried crank baits. The Walleye don't seam to be there yet or the water temp is to cold. Next week will be way warmer.

Same general area with the same results, the river was 56-F opening week although not fast n furious there was decent size and numbers, shut right down after the snow, buddy said river dropped to 46-f a few days later. Haven't seen or heard many caught since, had limited success either in deep slot or real shallow, lots of good marks but bites few n far between. Warmer weather in forecast should get them going.
Only bright spot was going shallow i.e. 3-4ft cast anything shinny and hook into lots of small to mid size pike, 5 one day 6 the next all in just one hours fishing mid day before calling it quits, got a couple okay sized, big enough for Blackened Fish tonight

We took a spin up river this weekend. Gar pike were thick in the shallows. It would be a good time to target them if you are into that type of thing. I am.
