Hey everyone looking for some advice before I maybe take the boat somewhere. On my boat. Everything powers up good my electronics etc. But when I have to put fish in my livewell and I turn my livewell on or even on auto. My electronics will turn off. But than I can turn it back on. But once my livewells kick back on. It goes out again. Any thoughts or suggestions. I’m thinking wiring but not too sure. Thanks

How old and what condition (and i don't mean looks..haha) is the battery? So many of these issues are battery related. If it was a wiring issue you would think the fuse would blow but you say the pump works. It all worked properly last when? Hook up a second battery if you have one in parallel using jumper cables see if that helps

sounds like the voltage is dropping too low and the electronics is shutting down, weak battery or the live well is drawing too much because it is half seized up.

You say you bought a brand new battery but is it big enough for the job ?
Motors take a lot of cranking power then after that the battery needs to power lots of different stuff.

Steps I would take.
Find out the current draw from the livewell pump(s)
Look at all the wiring connections from battery to switch panel to all electronics. If you see any corrosion at all replace and solder the connector. Actually it would be best to solder all connectors to ensure piece of mind for years to come.
If that doesn't fix the problem you may have to take a look at all the wiring to ensure that nothing is cracked or seperate.
Personally I would put my money on a corroded connection point

I had the same problem years ago and ended up replacing the cluster switch which had shorted out and effected a couple of functions. No problems since.

By the sounds of most which Jim Lyon I sent you a pm. I have a bass boat and all these wires make my eyes go cross eyed lol. I’m a carpenter by trade and me and electrical work doesn’t really mix well. Thanks everyone for the response. Looks like eventually I’ll be having to get it in somewhere
