Hi Guys.

My son and I went for a Salmon Fish off of Netties Patch this morning. I read some were caught last weekend off Wicklow and off the Bonnet, so why not try Netties .
Three Hours on the Water resulted in two Salmon Boated, Kept the smallest one for home. The Larger of the two was successfully released to fight another day.

We Fished the North side of Netties, 40 feet down over 70 fee of water. Blue and Silver Northern Kings did the trick. What a thrill to see the school of baitfish, see the hooks around it and the hookup in under 30 seconds. Wow. The lake was mostly like glass. Water temp on the surface at 69 degrees Fahrenheit.

The new downriggers Stacy at Pro Tackle sold me worked like a dream.

What a great Morning! Boy am I pumped!

Sure beat working,
Ray Bruneau

We hit there this morning and went 9/12 Fished 5 am till noon when we had to run and weigh a big one in. Ended up weighing 28.06. First time in a while doing that and it was a fun morning. Can’t wait till my boats ready to pound some kings. Would post pics but I suck at that stuff! 75 - 120 Feet of water 45 - 65 down. Cut bait and dodger flies worked well.

I wanted to run out this morning, but I have to watch the wind and the waves. Decided to fish Weller's Bay this morning instead. Even there the smaller boats were forced off of the water. Had to use the big motor and the trolling motor for any semblance of boat control. Had two fish on and never saw either one. No Bass, no Pike, no Walleye, They didn't like anything we offered up from Hard Bait, to Soft Baits to Live bait. Would have thrown the kitchen sink out if I had it onboard. Last weekend the complete opposite, couldn't keep them off.

Cheers,
Ray

Yes, that is my youngest son Bryan. Brother to Stephen & Jonathan.

We got another Fish off of the Patch this morning. Heavy fish, took two hands to lift the net into the boat. Best Guess for the weight is mid to high Twenties. He have some difficulty holding it up.
Blue and Silver NK Spoon, 60' down over 96 feet of water, on the South Side of Nettey's Patch. Quite the fight. It got tied up around the down rigger cable and then around the Skeg and Prop.
On the water at 6 am, fishing by 6:20 am and all done by 8:30 am. Had to go in then, someone had to make a nature call, I don't have a Head on my wee boat, and it wasn't Bryan!
Oh well, we had some fun, another time.

Ray
