Seems a proper first real post here after a few years of just lookin' around.

Hit this 16lb, 28" walleye out in the big lake the other week. Nice surprise still finding big boys out there.

Nice looking fish. I think you made a typo on the weight. I’m guessing 8.5-9lbs based on 28”.

nice fish but as others have said there's no way that fish is 16 lbs.
Closest guess would be 8 lbs

Welcome Dmcfaul to the board,
Its a decent fish no doubt but I have to agree its not in the 16 lb range. I think you should try your scales with a known weight to double check the accuracy. For comparison here are a couple pictures of fish over 10lbs and under 12 lbs. You compare and be the judge.

Its the ole 'sinkers up the arse trick'.

That never wins the tourney...

Don't know what to tell ya, weird day for my scale to lie to me I guess.

Maybe has something to do with having to hold the fish behind me so I could get it in the pic. Kinda like the opposite of you guys holding it out front to look bigger. That's the same trick I used to land my wife. :D

nice fish, nice comparison, if this was a 16lber why would you have kept it?

Just speculating but maybe for the wall?, if I caught a 16 lber it would be my first, and only eye on the wall. That is, unless I managed an 18 lber at some point. Good luck with that but I can keep dreaming. My PB is 31" 11.8 lb caught shallow in June and it went back in after a few good pics. Not sure about others but I think I would draw the line at lucky 13 lbs or above to mount and I might consider a replica. Anything over 6 goes back into the drink for me.

It's always been my opinion that if an angler legally catches a fish he is entitled to keep it with no explanations required

X 2 Jim.
As much as I preach Catch and Release for Muskies, if someone catches a legal fish (meaning in season and of legal length for the zone fished) they are entitled to harvest it if they wish.
