The salmon are in full at Springside park in Napanee ..lots of people there watching as well as some trying their luck landing one. With the water down its a spectacle to see the fish jump.

Dropped by today.
I really like the guys tossing heavy spoons with 4/0 trebles, and fishing them like "jerk" baits. The salmon run always seems to bring out the worst in "anglers".
I guess it's just too frustrating...seeing big fish in shallow water, but they won't bite. Although, I can't imagine eating one of those dark boots. Of course, there's always the roe...which seemed to be the main target.

We stopped Friday afternoon after a trip to Mr Chips for Fish and Chips and had a picnic on the hill overlooking the falls and it was a beautiful day.

Walked down and saw a guy hook two fish in two casts, had the 2nd on for five minutes and line broke and he had 20+ test.

Another guy went over the fence to help the guy land the fish and as soon as his sneaker hit the rocks, it was greased lightening, Oops - Down he went and cracked his head and opened a nice gash, of course he was soaked.

Other fish were hooked(?????) and lost, lots of fish trying to up the falls, really kinda cool to watch.
