Good morning,

Does anyone have first hand knowledge on how to properly get rid of flare gun shells in the Kingston area?

Thanks,

BATMAN (Kingston)

Marine Outfitters did, dispose of old when you bought new. You could call them (613) 634-1900

You could also check with your local Fire Dept. and Police force. They sometimes do educational/demonstration nights where they let you fire off old expired flares in order to gain the experience of how to use them properly. This is usually attended by boater, angler and hunter clubs.

I used to get rid of old flares thru the Cdn Power Squadron, but since have left them and I dropped off the last batch at the Police Station.

Superdad,

Sounds like the police department in Kingston may be my best option.

Should I call them first, since it’s on the other side of Kingston from me?

Thanks,
BATMAN

They sometimes do something at Trenton air base through Canadian Power Squadrons. It's not illegal to have the old ones on the boat so you might hold on to them.

Polliwogg, I have been keeping them for a long time. I have 20 or more expired shells plus 4 good ones in my boat. I have so many that I feel uncomfortable having them in my house. BATMAN

Called the Kingston police department. They confirmed they will take expired flare shells. Thanks. BATMAN
