First time on Quinte this Fall this Adolphus Reach, lots of boats, marked lots of fish, vast majority down 50 plus feet. We caught a few walleye running reefrunners and Trolls to 20s in "natural" colours, no added weight. Our biggest was 11.2 pounds, all released swam away strong.

Saw 2 fresh floaters as we were trolling around a 7-8 pound walleye already being picked at by birds and a 10 pounder still "kicking" tried to revive he but no luck. Take care of those fish, especially if fishing deep, lots of other food out there, the seagulls don't need 10 pound breeder walleye.

Tight lines!!

JimW,
Wow look how flat the water is, a beauty day and fish to boot. Im curious if you had checked the throats of those walleye would you have found the air bladder blown up like a balloon.
There has been a ton of work done on smallmouth bass and 'Fizzing' them but haven't heard of much work being done with walleye.

Hey Dan, the one floater we did not get that close to it and did not examine it. The 1st one we saw, we netted as it appeared to have a bit of life left in it, it's stomach was bloated a bit but air was not sticking in it's throat. We spent awhile trying to revive it but no luck.

I have fizzed a few smallmouth in the past, I might have to find research fizzing walleye.

JimW

Nice fish, great picture! I too saw a floating Pickerel that the seagulls were pecking at! Unfortunate. It certainly was a beautiful day on Sunday! Thanks for your post!
