Headed up to the bay yesterday morning. First stop was Luckys, only to find out that they don’t open until eight. Venture down to the mouth of the Trent, left the boat at home so carried on to AIkens Rd. Out on the ice by 730, set up in 13 FOW just outside the break. Ended up with two fish for the morning one 3 and one eight pounder. When the bite got slow ventured out with the spud. About 50 feet past where I was fishing it went through with one punch. Quickly retreated. Went to Wilkie Street for the evening bite. Ended up with two fish fishing and 16 feet of water. A five and a seven pounder. This morning we ventured out to Wagar‘s. Fished until 11, marked some perch but no walleye, no bites. 3 to 4 inches of ice at Aikens, 5 to 6 inches at Wilkie Street and 6” out to 19 fow at Wagers. Being from several hours out of town figured I would give a little report just for those guys thinking about making a trip.
All fish are back swimming!

Tight lines,
Neil

Awesome, report. Informative and a good reminder of how quick the ice can change in a short span. Showed how our most important piece of equipment out there is our spud.
Great to hear you had a good trip, got some exercise, stayed safe and caught some fish.

Great report, gives people the knowledge they need to make wise decisions. Your ft to ice ratio allows us to access a better situation of this season without giving away any secret spots. Lots of walleye to catch, we just want to be safe, that's why i use this board for ice thinkness. By the way, went to Legget lake (north of Parham) and they have 7 to 8 inches of black ice.
