Hey Guys,

Might be heading out for a quick fish tomorrow in the onderdonks area.
I know we will be getting a little bit of snow today/tonight so just wanted to see if anyone had any input in terms of anything I need to watch for (in the event the snow has covered up any pressure cracks....or anything else I should look out for). Haven't been out there yet this year so don't know what to expect.

Any advice/input would be great.

Thanks,
McFly

Have been out in that area a few time since dec 23..... Ice thickness has been on a rollercoaster... changing up to 3 inches daily.... just got better more consistant 6 or 7 inches in the last week... Large pressure crack in around the usual location It runs kinda S to N.... I would say pick you side, (east or west) at shore and stick to that side. snow will cover it in places, watch for the wet spots. A friend went in over his knees and had a very uncomfortable morning fish. Lots of machines out on the ice now, and a few permant hut... But I would still expect thinner ice as you get closer to the channel and or the mouth of the trent

Swannie, did he go though to his knees near the pressure crack and land on the ice pushed under at the crack?

Does anyone know if there is still tht parking lot there. It's been a few years since I was there and can't remember where it was

Put "Bay of Quinte Movers" into google maps. That will get you close and there is a box to pay for the parking. Big "but" I havent been this year so just going on last and past years experience

Thanks for the info Swannie...was very accurate.

Also of note for anyone heading out there....there was also a small pressure crack running East to West not to far off of shore.
It was minimal but the ice was thin there.

Dan....yes I believe thats what happened to the person that went in (or atleast thats what I heard as well).

Thanks again for all the great info and good luck out there guys.

Thanks,
Chris
