Last Friday I went down to the box (one of my favourite place on Earth ) in search our friend the mighty Toon-eye ( big walleye with eyes of toonies ). The ice looked super sketchy and for some reason I feel better in 10 foot sub zero waves in a boat. I'm not as brave on ice so I decided to go home and fold em' for once. On the ride home I get a call from my nephew and he told he had great ice at his cottage ( smaller inland lake ). This instantly put a smile on my face so we decided to give it a go. My nephew hadn't caught any crappie on his lake through the ice but has had a lot of success in open water. He wanted me to help teach him how to get them on his lake. I told him I'd try and I was up for the challenge and something different. Heres the vlog report of my Plan B day, its always to turn lemons into lemonade. I just love the feeling when you can turn a dismal fishing day into a successful one, the opposite is the worst feeling lol. Anyway here's the link below to our vlog report of our Crappie outing.
