I haven't heard anything. I suspect its going to be like last year where they make decisions based on what covid is doing

I wouldn't hold my breath for the Walleye World Derby, the way things are going, 2022 might be a possibility, but then the Organizers may shelve the whole project.

Opening weekend doesn't change, no Derby - Gee whiz!!!! How about Grandsons in Red Zone can't come and fish - that's a bummer.

The Kiwanis tournament was going to be my first attempt but IMO, the Rapala gold series has it figured out. Virtual tournaments are the future since the Covid reality is probably not going anywhere soon....sorry superdad...fishing without grandsons would suck. Joining it also supports that local initiative.

...just my 2 cents

I hope it goes ahead because the money goes to a good cause, but I tend to fish just outside of the tournements boundary, so I dont buy a ticket anymore.....flooding and high water levels however, has been a recurring detrement to my annual trip on opening day.

Found this on a site with a connx to Facebook

Kiwanis Walleye World Fishing Derby

To all of our great supporters and participants - we have waited as long as possible to see if COVID conditions would improve in the province of Ontario and, unfortunately, they have not improved to enough of a degree that the 2021 Kiwanis Walleye World Fishing Derby can proceed.

This was not a decision taken lightly and one that we are making with much regret but in the interests of our participants, our many volunteers and our greater communities it would not be wise to proceed with this year's event.

We wish everyone continued safety and hope to see you in 2022.

Join the Quinte gold series. Better for the fishery anyways.

That's too bad that the Kiwanis weekend was cancelled again its a great fund raiser for the area. I understand they can only wait so long. Quinte Gold Tourney it is for my boat. I really like this format.
