Went for the morning fish, only marked 3 walleye, lots of perch. Was in 29 ftow , 8 in black, 1 in white. Hard pulling. Caught 1 walleye on a fireball jig and stinger tip with minnows. Slow presentation , wont chase , almost dead stick.

Was out at Huffs yesterday.

Thin layer of ice on top and then slush then white ice and finally black ice. Breaking ice into slush almost every step.
I moved around a lot, mainly between 25 - 30', ice thinker at shallower water, at 25' there was about 6"+ black and at 30 feet it was about 4". Very slushy and wet... need good boots especially since the weather is going to be warm over the next few days.

As for fishing, out at Huffs 3 times this year, only 1 bite between all three trips. Tough year and getting tougher every year.

Thanks for the report! I am debating going out tomorrow. I hate the layer of false ice thing when you keep breaking through. Hard on the old heart valves 8O Question, is the water running down the hole or are you standing in it the whole time? And how deep is water/slush stuff?
Thanks!!
