The ice is out and the launch is good to go. Really wish I hadn't decided to do some work on my trailer and have my boat stored on blocks for the winter. Lots of species to target right now ; Lakers , browns, smallmouth and largemouth (new catch and release regs) and pike but the pike closes March31

I'm new to the area. Are you referring to Finkle's? Any guess as to how deep the ramp would be? Last season, I launched from Collins Bay Pier and that's about as shallow as I am comfortable launching on my own. Just wondering if Finkle's would be relatively similar in depth. I'm launching a 22 foot Kingfisher.

Thanks

Based on water levels in October (74.70m) and February (74.53m) Lake Ontario has dropped 17 cm in that period.

I would of thought with all the melt over the past few weeks the water level would be up

They don’t stop letting water out it’s ridiculous. Honestly if they don’t stop. I don’t care how much rain/melt we get. Everyone will struggle to put a boat in this year. Especially mid-late summer

My thoughts exactly. What will the levels be like by next fall especially if we have a dry summer? Shut the dam and lets hold some water back.

I have never seen the water levels this low in the spring before. I don't know how much the ice melting raises the water levels.

Good news for Municipalities and residences along the shorelines. Hopefully, now that the flood risk is lower, they can start holding back some water for the ramps.

Has anyone thought to contact the Loyalist Public Works about getting a load of crushed stone dropped at the end of the grate? Seems they did this once before and are a little more helpful to the angling population than some of the other municipalities.

I left a phone message for the Bath Roads Foreman in the fall when people were reporting the problem. I personally hadn't used the launch so I stopped by but couldn't see where the metal ended.
The Township guys probably couldn't either.

I doubt it's been fixed, right now would be a perfect time to look at it.

If your concerned about it, let them know, or if you just want to see if they fixed it before you get stuck.

You have to go to the Loyalist site and use their phone directory to email a message.

I sent my email. Everyone else should too. We should try to get a floating dock off the end of the pier. I asked for a 30’

Maybe if enough of us ask it could get done. Would only cost 2-3k and they can use it year after year.

With Loyalist possibly raising our taxes by 4% this year, it's the least they can do.

...email sent as well.

Thanks for posting the contact details.

It took a lot of calls to get the hole in the ramp fixed but they did it.

If your concerned about it then send a message. Hopefully lots of voices will make a difference.

A dock would be great also. Pretty tough launching if your by yourself.
