You are about to lose another parking place on the Bay of Quinte!

You need to call Quinte West City Councillors if you do not want to lose further access to the Bay.

You need to call before the Public Works Committee meeting scheduled for 3:30 pm Tuesday 11 May 2021.

At this meeting Quinte West staff are recommending No Parking signs be placed along the full length (and both sides) of North Shore Drive.

Two residents of North Shore Drive have complained to the City about Ice Fishermen parking on their street. They state driveways and fire hydrants are being blocked by parked vehicles.

They also state parked vehicles would make it difficult for emergency vehicles to access the street.

The complainants state that they cannot prevent people from accessing the Bay via Crown Land from North Shore Drive - so they hope denying parking will reduce congestion.

The City has already erected No Parking signs on part of Bayswater Road - after Bayswater Rd residents complained about ice fishermen parking on their street.

You can read the actual complaint and the report recommending no parking.

To read the report go to the City of Quinte West Website:
Click on: Your City Hall
Click on: Committee meetings
Click on Public works meeting 11 May

Members of this Committee who will be making the No Parking decision are:
Allan Dewitt - Chairman
David McCue - Vice Chair
Karen Sharpe - Councillor
Fred Kuypers - Councillor
Linda Reid - Councillor
Leslie Roseblade - Councillor
David Shoniker - public member
Jessica Smylie - public member
Wayne Scalletta - public member
Chuck Nathan - public member

Email addresses for councillors can be found on the City website. If you are not sure who to call, I recommend you call both the Chairman and the Vice Chairman.
