Pike, singular, in this usage...
Was out for a few hours on Saturday morning with the rain varying between heavy and a soaking mist. Trolled from Waupoos, into Smith's, and back to the south-west tip of the island with only an aspiring perch to show ('aspiring', since it was well shorter than the lure it grabbed onto). Was just about to head for home and a fresh coffee when I hooked into a 35 inch pike on the old reliable b&w floating Rapala. Made it worth the wait and the wet.
Saw only one other boat out. Someone tougher than me, with no cover on his boat to hide under!
Got caught in a pretty good blizzard on the 401 yesterday... I guess winter is lurking after all...
Best to all,
Dano

35" !! That's getting into the teens....nicely done. 20 years ago I used to troll the W side of the island with the B/W old reliable. Always came through...and obviously still does to this day.

Thanks, Bill!
Hard to beat that long Rap for trolling... but I do hate casting it 'cause it tangles about every second throw... ha!
Are you done for the season? I'll be out with my Dad and son next weekend (27-28) and maybe for trout during the following week once that season reopens. Flag me down if you see me and I'd say 'hello' in person...
Take care,
Dano

Hi Dano, at the moment I plan to go out Saturday afternoon for a few hours. Ha...nobody wants to go with me...they all have great excuses. Maybe my Godson again. With the south winds in the forecast I may try your area. Who knows....maybe even troll the old reliable b&w floating Rapala.
AND a 5/diamonds of course

Hey Dano, that was me out there. I remember seeing your boat and wondering if I would enjoy a cover and maybe a heater? Although I love casting so that wouldn't help me much.

You got a bigger fish than me! I got three, big of 33". In the four hours of fishing, the bites came in about a 45 min. window. I'm going out tomorrow but not the weekend after. Maybe see you out there lake trout fishing in a couple of weeks.
