We just finished up our annual quinte trip and it was definately our best trip in years. My buddy and I went 36 for 40 with several double headers. 3 of them over 12lbs with the biggest being 12.78lbs.

We were fishing out of a 16ft aluminum so we had to play the wind. Although the majority of the boats went to Adolphus Reach, we decided to fish west of the ferry to target the walleye that have already arrived.
This was a great decision, as the walleye were stacked in there and we were all alone, except for the odd boat.
We did pick up a few around Keith's shoal on Thursday.

By far the best lure was the custom hj12 deep.
210 ft back, no snaps, 1.4mph.
Every fish caught, were released.

A friendly reminder to those launching this time of year, please drain your trailers prior to pulling out as it was a skating rink at the ramp and dangerous. You could easily see who didn't drain the trailer, it was like a Zamboni trail to the trucks.

Good shootin' !! Some real beauties...it's always great when a plan comes together. I always say that fishing is just like chess...you've got to be thinking 2 to 3 moves ahead to be successful.

Bravo Fellas! What an amazing few days you had! I'm totally envious! I've had some good days on Quinte but never like that. I drove right past you to were the fish weren't. lol I'm totally happy that you had such a successful trip. It gives hope to the rest of us that couldn't find them those days. Thanks for the report and all the details. I'd like to come back for another kick at the can but I'm putting the boat in the Barn for the winter on Saturday. Thanks also for the great pictures. Nice to see those golden eyes! The proof is in the pudding!

I got stuck on the icy launch ramp with all wheel drive and snow tires, trying to pull my boat out. Fortunately, I always bring a bucket of salt with me for just such occasions. Sprinkled a bit around and crawled right out.

Cheers!
