I have found reason for the sudden fish kill of sheephead is due to a chemical distributed through out quinte waters for the elemination of gobies. Not with great success?

Man, if that's true somebody didn't do their homework  What a real shame. While the Sheepshead don't taste too good, they sure can add some excitement to a day when you hook into those 10 + pounders.

Hey Pauly,

I was at Thompson's on Sat & Sun with Joanne. Are you coming to Bayview at all this year? We're not in the Lund anymore. We're in this now

after speaking with both a friend of mine, who is a biologist for the MNR, and works in that area, AND kevin from Merland Park....neither can confirm, or even say they've 'heard' about what your talking about...

and my friend from the MNR said he is aware of the fish kill, and is kept up to date with the results and advances in that area....

are you sure what you've been told isn't 'hearsay'...?

if its really true, can you find out what chemical they used? Something tells me this is just word of mouth....Using a chemical to get rid of gobies, when they would just reintroduce themselves in the area, after the dead ones are gone, seems silly......and really not that practical....

I was out in Colins Bay on sunday and there were a lot of dead sheep head and carp.

One thing I did notice was the lack of zebra mussels.....could it be this that they're trying to control?

Normally the Brothers Islands are covered with them but not this year. :?:

Maybe it's because of the amount of those awful cormorants (sp) that have destroyed the one towards Bath and now the one closest to Kingston.

Anyone been around there lately? You can't get too close without the stench taking your breath away.

CHEERS!
