Awesome Awesome Awesome!!
My plan is to try for these babies this year. I am all geared up based mostly from info from this forum. And Bobv75...you have been a major influence with info and your dam pics and pics and pics........
I have the riggers, dipsys, planner boards, rods, lures (made a major trip to Protackle at the beginning of covid) No lead core though. I didn't go out on the 1st because I wasn't sure it they would be biting yet with the warm water temps. Now I know.
I was wondering if they are higher up now or down deeper now or just all over the water column all the time.
I gave the fall walleye a try a couple times but was unsuccessful. Hopefully a can hook onto one of these guys to help get my confidence up. Life is kinda busy right now so might not make it out as many times as I would like.

And also I was wondering if you switch the treble hooks on trolling spoons out for single hooks and if so what kind/size.

Thanks again to all! This site has really helped me transition over to the big lake.
Glenn

And to all the younger members who think they will have more time to fish and do stuff when the get older...it doesn't always work out that way. GO NOW!!

The spawn is a little behind with the warmer water this year so they are everywhere this time of year. I leave the spawners alone ( they make a real mess of boat ). I focus on 40 to 60 feet of water. Fishing anywhere from 20 feet to bottom. I don’t change hooks. I use leadcore alot but dipseys and riggers work too. Snap weights and spoons or walleye baits will work this time of year. They will be on the chew till ice up and is one of my fav times to fish all year. Good luck out there.

Congratulations Bob, those are monsters. Your arms must have been sore that night. I was wondering if we'd hear from you this fall. I always enjoyed the plethora of pike fishing photos in the past and I didn't see any this year. I thought maybe you gave up fishing. lol Anyway, nice to see your post and another successful fishing outing. Have fun with the lakers.

Tight lines!

Thanks for posting, Bob, both the pics and the tactics.
I hauled out the boat and closed up the cottage for the winter yesterday, so I'll be living vicariously through his board until the spring.
Good luck and stay safe on that cold water!
