Hello All:

To get it out of the way, I live 4 hours away or I would indeed check for myself. :)

Anyway, I am wondering if there are any ATV's or sleds on the ice yet around Herchimer or Point Anne? Or anywhere else? I also recognize that no-one is promising safe ice by replying. Like everyone says, there is no such thing. The reason I am asking is that I love ice fishing, but have some minor health issues which make long walks an issue, especially pulling a sled.

Also, if anyone wanted to meet up so they are not fishing or walking out alone, I am always looking to meet new folks. I will likely be up Monday and Tuesday, but quite possibly this weekend as well.

Thank you,

KennyT

The ice is pretty good now in Belleville area and Big Bay, from what I hear. Belleville has a good 6" in most spots.

Big bay has 6-7" on the spots I checked but that was only a couple holes drilled. I can appreciate your question as you say being 4 hours away. Good luck and be safe

Many thanks to the folks who took the time to reply here or in a message. I realize out of towners asking for ice conditions gets tiresome for the locals and appreciate the direct, respectful responses provided. I hope to meet some of you on the ice. My rule is to always bring one extra beverage just in case. Tks again.
